PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A clean brushed rectangle frame buckle in two widths: 35mm and 40mm. The Urban Square is a pin-post design — the strap slides into the rear clamp, the pin-post aligns with a pre-punched hole in the strap, and the front clamp closes to secure the assembly. No tools required for installation.

This is not an automatic ratchet buckle. It requires a strap with pre-punched holes for the pin-post to function. It is not compatible with ratchet-track straps that have an internal groove rather than punched holes.

The brushed finish — available in matte silver and industrial gunmetal — produces a low-sheen surface that does not reflect light under normal daily wear conditions. Scratches and fingerprints are less visible on a brushed surface than on a polished one. The gunmetal option is a cooler, darker grey-silver tone suited to contemporary casual and workwear contexts. The matte silver is the more versatile neutral.

The ergonomic profile has a slight curve along the back face that follows the waistline rather than sitting flat — reduces pressure against the body when seated or driving.

MECHANISM — PIN-POST CLAMP

The pin-post mechanism works as follows:

1. Insert: Slide the strap through the open rear clamp
2. Align: Position the pin-post over the correct hole in the strap
3. Clamp: Snap the toothed rear clamp shut — the teeth grip the strap back face; close the front cover

The pin-post sits in a punched hole in the strap. The clamp holds the strap body. Both points together provide the retention that keeps the buckle in position during wear.

Unlike a ratchet mechanism, the pin-post gives fixed adjustment at hole intervals — typically 25mm apart on a standard belt. There is no micro-adjustment between holes.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Width note: The inner bar is 40mm on both selector options — the 35mm selector positions the strap centrally within the 40mm opening, leaving approximately 2.5mm each side. The 40mm selector is a full-fit. For 38mm straps the fit is equivalent to the 40mm option — 1mm play each side.

Not compatible with: Ratchet-track straps (straps with an internal groove on the back face). Pin-buckle belts that use a screw-back rather than a clamp-back attachment.

CARE

Will it fit a 38mm strap? Yes. The 40mm inner bar fits 35–40mm straps. A 38mm strap has approximately 1mm play each side — functionally equivalent to a full-fit for most belts.

Is this suitable for women’s belts? Yes. The clean rectangular frame and brushed finish work in both men’s and women’s casual and fashion belt contexts. The 35mm width suits slimmer women’s straps; the 40mm width suits standard jeans and casual straps.

Does zinc alloy rust? Zinc alloy is corrosion-resistant under normal daily wear. It does not rust. Sustained exposure to salt water or prolonged moisture may dull the finish over time — wipe dry after exposure.
