The Vintage Brown and Vintage Coffee finishes are pull-up leather — a natural, lightly oiled surface that shows the character of the hide and responds visibly to wear and handling. Pull-up leather lightens at flex points and darkens with oil and friction over time, developing a contrast patina that smooth, corrected leather does not replicate. The two colors start at different tones but age in the same direction: deeper, warmer, and more individual with each month of wear.

The strap is single-piece top-layer cowhide — the outermost layer of the hide where the fibre density is highest. No bonding, no fillers. At 4mm thickness it holds flat in a 38–40mm denim loop without rolling forward at the buckle area.

The buckle is solid brass. Not brass-toned zinc alloy — solid brass, which does not chip, does not corrode, and develops a warm patina alongside the leather. The antique brass finish visible on the buckle is a surface treatment applied to aged brass, not a plating over a base metal.

Fit and sizing: Screw-fastened buckle. Unscrew, trim from the buckle end with scissors, punch a new hole with the included tool, reattach. Under two minutes. Order 110–120cm for most waist sizes; 130–135cm for larger waists.

On pull-up leather: The lightening at flex points and scratching on the surface are characteristics of this finish, not defects. They are reversible with a finger — the warmth from handling reseals the surface oils. Most buyers consider the marks and contrast the most distinctive feature of the belt after six months of wear.

On the patina timeline: Vintage Brown develops a warm amber-dark brown contrast. Vintage Coffee develops a deeper espresso tone with lighter flex lines. Both finishes change more visibly in the first three months of daily wear than at any subsequent point.
