PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Titan is the replacement buckle for the HoldForm canvas tactical belt range — the Commando, Ghost Squadron, Sky Guardian, and Polaris belts all use friction-lock buckles in this size class. At 45mm × 68mm it is the largest buckle in the replacement range, producing a prominent waistband presence suited to tactical, outdoor, and workwear contexts.
The friction-lock mechanism uses precision-milled internal teeth that grip the canvas or nylon strap fibres when the slide is set. Unlike a ratchet track clamp that engages a specific groove, the friction-lock grips across the strap width — it holds at any position along the strap without fixed adjustment steps. To release: press the lever and slide.
The zinc alloy construction is dense and cold to the touch — significantly heavier than hollow or plastic buckles in the same size class. Anti-scratch matte coating maintains the finish under sustained daily wear.

COMPATIBILITY
Works with: 38mm canvas and nylon webbing straps. The Commando, Ghost Squadron, Sky Guardian, Polaris, Enforcer, and VT44 canvas/nylon belts in the HoldForm range all use 38mm straps compatible with this buckle.
Not optimised for: Leather straps. Friction-lock mechanisms grip woven fibres — leather requires a different retention approach.
Not compatible with: Ratchet-track leather straps (which require the shark-tooth clamp mechanism of the standard 35mm ratchet replacement buckles).
Metal detectors: Yes — solid zinc alloy activates standard airport security metal detectors.
HOW TO INSTALL
- Slide your existing 38mm canvas or nylon strap through the rear of the buckle housing
- Set the strap to your preferred length — the friction-lock holds at any position
- Press the lever down to lock the strap in place
- To adjust: press the release lever, slide to the new position, release
If the strap is too thick to slide through the buckle housing, the strap may exceed the standard tactical webbing thickness. The buckle is designed for standard 38mm tactical webbing — not for heavy reinforced nylon above standard thickness.

CARE
Wipe with a dry cloth. The matte zinc alloy coating resists scratches and fingerprints under normal daily use. In sustained humid, rain, or sweat-exposed conditions, wipe dry after each use. Zinc alloy does not rust but the anti-scratch coating may show wear at sustained friction contact points over time.

Will this fit a leather belt? It fits 38mm leather straps but is designed for canvas and nylon webbing — the friction-lock grip is optimised for woven fibre surfaces. For leather strap replacements the standard 35mm ratchet clamp buckles are more appropriate.
Is it easy to install? Yes — slide the 38mm strap through the rear of the buckle, set to length, and lock. No tools required. If the strap is too thick to thread through the housing it exceeds the standard tactical webbing thickness this buckle is designed for.
Does it contain nickel? The zinc alloy uses a surface coating designed to be skin-friendly. For buyers with confirmed nickel allergies, direct zinc alloy skin contact should be avoided — the coating provides a barrier but is not a confirmed nickel-free certification.
