The strap is single-piece top-layer cowhide — the outermost layer of the hide where the fibre density is highest. No bonding, no fillers, no interlayers. The surface has a natural matte texture that suits the workwear and casual denim aesthetic this belt is built for. At 4mm thickness it holds flat in a 38–40mm denim loop without rolling forward under daily wear.
The buckle has a matte black PVD coating. PVD — physical vapour deposition — bonds the coating at a molecular level rather than applying it as a surface layer. The result is a finish that resists the scratching and friction that denim produces against hardware during daily wear. The flat black tone reads as contemporary and utilitarian against all three leather colors, and does not develop the warm patina of brass or copper — it stays consistent in appearance over time.
The edge stitching visible along the strap length is a construction detail that adds structural integrity at the leather edge and creates a visual contrast with the matte leather surface. The buckle attaches via screw fastener for length adjustment.
Fit and sizing: Unscrew the buckle, trim from the buckle end with scissors, punch a new hole with the included tool, reattach. Under two minutes.

On the matte black finish: PVD coating is significantly more durable than electroplating. Electroplated hardware chips at the edges where denim friction is highest, typically within 6–18 months of daily wear. PVD bonding does not chip in the same way.
