FAQ
Does a ratchet belt slip under tension? No. The spring-loaded pawl locks the mechanism until the release lever is pressed. The belt holds position throughout the day without adjustment unless you choose to loosen or tighten it.
Can I shorten the belt after trimming? Yes. Press the buckle release, slide the strap out, trim further from the buckle end, and reattach. The strap can be trimmed multiple times as long as sufficient length remains.
What leather does the CoreLine use? The CoreLine uses a cowhide strap suited for daily business and casual wear. HoldForm’s full-grain single-layer construction is available in the Hidden-Tail and Executive series for buyers who want the highest leather specification.
Why are ratchet belts better than pin-buckle belts for daily wear? Pin-buckle belts concentrate all belt tension at a single hole edge. Over time this causes the hole to deform from round to oval — the belt no longer holds its correct position. A ratchet belt distributes tension across the full track with no hole concentration point.
