PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The CarbonEdge is defined by its buckle surface — a carbon-pattern textured face in a flat matte finish that minimises glare and surface wear at contact points. The texture gives the buckle a contemporary technical aesthetic without logos or decorative elements. It reads as modern and considered in both office and smart casual contexts.
The adjustment mechanism is the same 32-position ratchet track used across the HoldForm range — 0.5cm increments replacing five fixed holes. The leather face has no punched holes and no stress concentration points. You set the exact tension required for the current activity, not the nearest available hole.
The genuine cowhide strap is 35mm — the standard business width that fits most dress trouser, chino, and casual trouser loops correctly. The flat low-profile buckle sits flush against the waistband without creating a visible outline under a jacket.
THE BUCKLE SURFACE
The carbon-pattern texture is a machined or moulded surface treatment on the buckle face — fine diagonal or grid lines that create visual depth and reduce the fingerprint and scratch visibility of a polished flat surface.
This finish is not a carbon fibre insert and does not contain carbon fibre material. “Carbon-pattern” refers to the visual texture of the surface, which resembles woven carbon fibre. The buckle is zinc alloy throughout.
The matte textured surface coordinates with brushed and matte watch hardware — steel with a brushed finish, titanium, DLC-coated hardware — better than it coordinates with highly polished or gold-tone hardware. The carbon pattern reads as technical and contemporary rather than formal.

SIZE GUIDE
| Strap length | Fits waist (cm) | Fits waist (inches) |
|---|---|---|
| 110cm | Up to 90cm | Up to 35″ |
| 120cm | 90–100cm | 35–39″ |
| 130cm | 100–110cm | 39–43″ |
| 140cm | 110–120cm | 43–47″ |
Measure your waist at belt loop level — where the belt loops sit on the trouser, not the natural waist. Add 15–20cm to your measurement. Order the strap length that meets or exceeds this figure. Trim from the buckle end before first wear. If between sizes, always order longer.

COLOUR OPTIONS
Black strap — carbon-pattern matte buckle Formal and business casual. Suits charcoal, navy, and dark trousers. Coordinates with brushed steel, titanium, and DLC-coated watch hardware.
Brown strap — carbon-pattern matte buckle Business casual and smart casual. The matte technical buckle provides contrast against warm brown leather — this works in casual and contemporary professional contexts rather than traditional business formal.
Black and brown combination Two independent belts — one black, one brown. Both trim-to-fit. Correct approach for buyers who want to cover formal and casual contexts with a single order.

HOW TO TRIM TO FIT
- Press the release button on the side of the buckle and slide the strap out of the housing
- Measure your waist at belt loop level
- Mark the cut point on the back face of the strap — always cut from the buckle end, never the finished tip end
- Cut with sharp scissors at a 90-degree angle in one clean stroke
- Reinsert the trimmed strap into the buckle housing and press the clamp until it engages
- Pull the buckle firmly to confirm the clamp is fully seated

CARE
Wipe with a soft dry cloth to remove surface dust. Avoid folding sharply or coiling under pressure. Store hung vertically by the buckle.
Apply a small amount of leather conditioner every 3–6 months to maintain flexibility at the buckle fold. Full care guide: Leather belt care and conditioning →
FAQ
Is this an automatic belt or a ratchet belt? Both terms describe the same mechanism. The CarbonEdge uses a spring-loaded pawl that locks onto a 32-position track — automatic in the sense that it locks as the strap is inserted and releases via a side button. No holes, no pin-buckle prong. For a full explanation: What is a ratchet belt →
Is the carbon-pattern surface real carbon fibre? No. The carbon-pattern refers to the texture of the buckle face — a machined or moulded surface that visually resembles woven carbon fibre. The buckle is zinc alloy throughout. The surface treatment provides a matte finish with visual depth and reduced glare.
Is this suitable for suits? Yes. The 35mm width fits most suit trouser loops and the flat buckle profile does not create a visible outline under a jacket. The carbon-pattern texture is contemporary rather than traditional — appropriate for business casual and modern professional contexts. For the most conservative formal settings, a plain brushed silver buckle from the Executive Belt range → is the more appropriate choice.
What leather grade is the strap? Genuine cowhide suited to everyday business and casual wear. For single-layer full-grain leather — the highest specification for sustained daily professional wear — see the Executive Elite → and Hidden-Tail series →.
Can I buy black and brown separately? Yes — black and brown are available as individual belts. The black and brown combination option provides two independent belts in a single order.
How do I trim the belt to my size? Press the release button, slide the strap out, cut from the buckle end to your measured waist length, reinsert and lock. Full process: How to trim a ratchet belt →
Does the ratchet mechanism slip during the day? No. The spring-loaded pawl locks the track until the release button is deliberately pressed. The belt holds tension throughout the day under normal daily wear conditions.

Fits well and looks good! Easy to use and set up
As described, super stable and fits perfectly.
These have replaced all my other belts. Great fit (adjustable) and so far, durable belts. I wear one every day.
These belts are Awesome! They seem to be good quality and have an extremely innovative design. Adjustment is quick and positive. Release and un-fasten is just as quick. I have only worn the one for the last two days, but it has held with no issues and less time spent finding the comfort zone depending on activity level or position you are in. I am however unsure how long the release mechanism will hold up for, of the overall construction it seems like the weak link. Only time will tell!
Excellent elegant men's belt. The order arrived quickly and in good packaging.
Fantastic belts.
