PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This is a clean automatic belt. No oversized logos, no aggressive design, no surface texture on the buckle. The glossy flat-face buckle uses a smooth reflective surface — it catches light evenly and reads as formal and conventional in office and suit contexts.
The distinction between this and the matte or brushed buckles in the range: glossy reflects directly, which makes it more visible under light but also more traditional — glossy black-and-gold buckle hardware has been the standard for formal business belts for decades. It reads as conventional rather than contemporary.
The genuine leather strap uses a pebbled texture that provides grip against the waistband and hides minor surface wear better than smooth leather.
The ratchet mechanism provides 32 positions at 0.5cm increments. The leather face has no punched holes.
Trade-off worth stating: The glossy finish will show scratches over time at sustained friction points more visibly than matte finishes. At normal business wear friction levels this takes months. For buyers who want a finish that holds appearance longer at friction points, the Executive Belt range → uses higher-specification hardware coatings.

HOW TO TRIM TO FIT
- Press the release lever on the buckle and slide the strap out of the housing
- Measure your waist at belt loop level
- Mark the cut point on the back face of the strap — always cut from the buckle end, never the finished tip end
- Cut with sharp scissors at a 90-degree angle in one clean stroke
- Reinsert the trimmed strap and press the clamp until it engages
- Pull the buckle firmly to confirm the clamp is fully seated

FAQ
Is this a ratchet belt? Yes. It uses an internal 32-position track instead of punched holes. For a full explanation: What is a ratchet belt →
Is the glossy buckle formal enough for suits? Yes. The smooth glossy buckle and flat face profile are appropriate for formal business, suits, and events. The glossy finish is the conventional choice for formal belt hardware — it reads as traditional rather than contemporary.
Will the buckle scratch? Glossy finishes show scratches more visibly than matte or brushed finishes. At normal daily business wear friction levels, visible wear develops over months of use. This is accurate — the original page states it honestly and it belongs in the FAQ. For longer-lasting hardware finish: Executive Elite →
Is it better than a traditional pin-buckle belt? For fit precision and daily usability: yes. For buyers who specifically want the traditional pin-buckle aesthetic: the open-frame Statesman or a standard pin-buckle belt is the better choice.
